ENCEPHALIA or ‘The Robotics Event’ is another much awaited event of our Technical fest which challenges the participant’s intellect among the techno freaks where each team shall create a new robotic being from scratch for various task oriented events such as;
- ROBOWARS: Since the dawn of the time the only principle known to every being by birth is that in this world it is the’ Survival Of The Fittest’ and so is the case here where Robots shall battle it out till the very end and show their supremacy over this realm!
- LINE FOLLOWER: This event is the first basic step toward achieving the task of creating an Artificial Intelligent being. Here the participants will have to create an autonomous robot that has to follow a specified path with logical hurdles in its path!
ROBOWARS
Do’s/Don’ts
- The robot dimensions should be such that it fits in a box of 50cmX50cmX50cm.
- The maximum permissible weight of the robot is 20 KGs. Judges shall have the right to allow a relaxation of 1kg on their discretion.
- The robot should be controlled by some electrical/electronic remote control mechanism (wired/wireless).
- In case of wired remote, it should be seen that the wire remains slack during the event.
- In case of wireless remote, it should be such that it has variable modulation frequencies so that two robots may not have same operational remote frequency.
- The robot should be powered by external/internal power supply.
- The robot should be powered by a maximum of 24V battery.
- The lead acid batteries are allowed if they are of sealed type (inverter batteries are not allowed as they are not completely sealed).
- The teams should bring their own power supplies/eliminators etc.
- External mains will be supplied to teams (50hz, 220V)
- A team can consist of at the most 4 members.
- The robot should have its name written clearly on it .
- It must have at least one weapon.
- Projectile weapons are not allowed. Neither are corrosive chemicals/water.
- The weapon should not be such that it causes damage to the arena.
- Pneumatic weapons are allowed provided that they don’t break the above two clauses.
- In case of arena damage the bot will be disqualified.
- Cutting of remote control wires intentionally is not allowed.
- If a robot gets immobilized due to entangling of its remote wires in other bot due to the slackness of its own team the robot will be deemed immobile.
- Untangling of remote wires is allowed. The team is allowed to move around its wires to prevent it form entangling provided that it is slack enough that it does not prevent the robot movement.
Rules and Regulations
ROUND 1: ROYAL RUMBLE
- 4 bots would compete in the first round which will be going to be a royal rumble.
- The winner will be decided on the basis of last man standing.
- If no bots are eliminated, then the winner will be decided on the basis of points.
- Elimination will be done if the bot has been forced out of the arena or has been immobilized.
- If the bot does not move from one place in 30seconds it will be considered immobilized.
- Each team will be awarded points for any intentional hit.
- These hit points will double in the critical zones of the arena.
- Points for hitting are given as: 100 points for a hit.
- Scorers have the right to decide if any hit is intentional.
- If there is a collision of weapons by both teams, both the teams will be given points.
- In case of a collision where a bot is displaced by the other, the latter will get points.
- A bot may given 500 points for a critical hit. This decision is binding on the coordinators.
ROUND 2:THE DUEL-RULES(To be updated shortly)
Arena:
Arena is a square wooden board 8ftX8ft with critical zones at the edges 30cmX30cm. The bots will be starting from the dedicated place @ the middle of each side.
LINE FOLLOWER
Rules and Regulations
- The robot should cover max. area 25cmX25cm.
- It should be powered by a battery<=12V.
- The winners will be decided on the basis of Maximum distance covered.
- If a clash is there least time taken will decide the winner. - The path that is to be followed is a black path on a white surface and is of 3cm width.
- The diversion paths leading to dead ends on the track are 1cm wide.
- Each team will be given two runs with the best of two would be the decider.
- 2nd run will be started after all teams are given the first run.
- In case of clash in timings, the winner will be decided on the basis of average of times in the two runs.

P.S.:- Readymade market vailable robots and Lego kits are not allowed.
